In July PONY we’ve been reading War Horse by Michael Morpurgo 

When Joey comes to live on the farm with Albert they soon become BFF’s, but after Joey’s recruited to be a cavalry horse in World War One, they’re separated. The book’s narrated by Joey, who finds himself in the middle of the action, while Albert heads to the frontline to find his beloved horse. It’s an amazing book, full of drama and emotion.
