Sunshine Stables: Jess and the jumpy pony by Olivia Tuffin

Camp at Sunshine Stables was every pony-mad child’s dream, but Jess’ week got off to a tough start when the pony she was riding suddenly went lame. She was left wondering what it would mean for the rest of the week – who would she ride now? Even though Lainey, the owner of the riding school, had loads of ponies to choose from, most were for novices and Jess wanted a challenge.

One day, a stunning grey pony called Bandit arrived on the yard to be sold on behalf of Lainey’s friend. But after spending time getting to know this kind, cuddly pony, Jess had the wonderful ideal that Bandit could join the riding school.

Much to Jess’ delight, she got the chance to ride Bandit and their connection went from strength to strength, but when he unexpectedly bucked and showed less than desirable behaviour for a riding school pony, his future at Sunshine Stables was in jeopardy. Jess is sure he’s got the potential to become the perfect schoolmaster, but can she prove it?
