Casper’s Magic Wings by Suzi Lewis-Barned

When Casper gets a nasty disease called laminitis in spring, he’s bound to his stable for a long time and starts to feel very sad and lonely because it means he can’t spend time in the field with his best friends, Ned and Valiant.

Summer finally arrives and Casper’s little bird friend Swallow has come home from South Africa to lay her eggs. However, nasty Magpie is perched outside the stable, waiting for the chicks to hatch and start to fly. Casper tries to stop Magpie from stealing the little birds, but Magpie tells Casper he’s useless and can’t keep Swallow’s family safe.

But one night, something magical happens to Casper. Can he save the day and protect the chicks?
