New scheme aims to introduce the magic of ponies to young people

The BHS has launched a new scheme aimed at providing more young people with the opportunity to experience the joy of ponies.

Called the Pony Party Provider, riding schools wishing to take part in the scheme simply sign up to it, while parents can be confident that their children are in safe hands, as the pony party providers have to meet the same criteria as any BHS-approved riding school.

Oonagh Maher, Head of Approved Centres Operations at The British Horse Society, said: “We are thrilled to launch the BHS Approved Pony Party Provider Scheme. For many children, pony parties are their first chance to experience the magic of horses, with a first meeting often transforming a young person’s life.

“This is an exciting and important step forward for equine participation, helping to make sure that pony party providers can continue to successfully take the best care of their ponies whilst giving peace of mind to the parents that they’re offering the children the best equine experience possible.”
