There’s still time to qualify for Anyone Can Event competition with Harry Hall and British Eventing

If you’re aged 10 or over, you could have a chance to compete in a new eventing series sponsored by Harry Hall. Usually, competitors have to be members of British Eventing to take part in its events but its new Anyone Can Event (ACE) Series is open to everyone.

The last competition in the series is the four-day Harry Hall One Club ACE Championship to be held at the Aintree International Equestrian Centre in June (although if you qualify, you’ll have to join BE to take part in this). The junior class is for competitors aged 10-18.

Although the series has been running since October last year, there’s still time to enter as there are five qualifiers in April and one at the beginning of May. The top six at each event will receive a Harry Hall rosette and the winner, as well as qualifying for the championship, will be awarded a shopping voucher to spend at harryhall.com.

If you want to take part, you’ll be jumping in an arena, but you’ll still be able to wear your cross-country kit. Classes will have jumps between 70cm and 1m and you’ll have to tackle six to eight show jumps and eight to ten cross-country jumps that can be knocked down. The winner will be the competitor closest to the optimum time with the lowest number of penalty points.

CEO of Harry Hall Liz Hopper said: “We’re delighted to be encouraging today’s riders to go eventing with the Harry Hall One Club ACE Championships. We’re really looking forward to Aintree in June where we’ll be celebrating everyone’s achievements”.
