Hi everyone, I’m starting pony club soon with my share pony vinnie. i’m a bit worried I won’t fit in though :/ what should I do?

Hi 👋 ponylover, I’m the same age and height and I usually ride a 13”2 but a 14”2 would probably last you longer. But it usually depends on your weight and what pony/horse is right for you. Hope this helps and enjoy your lessons!

Hi Nima! I think you should get a 12.2 hh or maybe a 13 hh??? Im not really sure but I think it’s better to feel comfortable on him/ her instead of getting a pony who is too big and you feeling a little bit nervous. Also, height isn’t everything (well you do need to fit on him😂) but also look for a pony who’s the right speed, the right kind nature and a pony who you think you will click with (if you haven’t already.) i hope this helps a bit! Hey everyone😉, I was wondering if you know of any awesome tips to ace a xc comp? And some totally fab xc colours? Or shops that sell xc baselayers and more? Thanks so much. Niamh x

Hi Emma, shows are really fun except your first few can be scary! It makes it easier if you trust your pony! When you walk into the arena just try to ignore the audience, I do this by picturing a red rossete in my head! Also if something goes wrong like your pony refuses just laugh turn around and try again! And if you fall off and your not hurt it is best to get back on as soon as possible so you don’t lose your confidence. However if you are hurt there will be many people to help, and soon you’ll be back in the saddle having fun with your pony! Good luck and hope this helps. Belle x

Hi naomisparkle! It would probably be cheaper to use your own lorry, as you would only really need to pay for th gas ( and food😂) but it depends on the size of your lorry and how far away isle of Wight is from you!

  9. Mycheekylilpony says:

Hiya Lauren! Sitting canter is easy when you know how! At first I was really bouncy, practice makes perfect though! Just pretend there is money on th saddle under your bottom so you have to sit tightly as so not to lose it! You may have heard of this? Hopefully it helps. From Belle x

Hi blossy! Trail riding is really fun! My advice is to stay calm and focus on your position and control . Trail riding is supposed to be fun, not serious. So just try your best to have fun! Don’t be shy to talk too- the first time I went trail riding I was really shy and I realised you shouldn’t be, otherwise you miss out on loads of riding tips! Also I was worried about the people watching me would think I wasn’t good enough, which really affected my riding. Maybe invite a friend for the first time so you know someone will be very proud of you- if you dont have ANY horsey friends you can make some through the pony club and riding schools. Maybe try and book in a lesson before the trail ride? I would say you should be very confident in the arena before a trail ride.

Hi everyone; I’m new here! I was wondering if any of you know of any pony club rallies coming up? None of my family are on Facebook so it’s hard to find all the pony day outs and stuff. Thank you x

Hi 👋 Springles_pony123 Its so nice that you want to do a Sponsored ride for charity! And if you don’t want to canter that’s fine if you’re going on a hack you could always let your friends canter infront of you, and you trot behind and do half-halt, of if you’re just worried about cantering on a hack you could always warm you’re horses up in the arena ( doing walk, trot and canter!). I’m sure if you tell you’re friends you don’t want to canter that they’ll understand!
    Enjoy 😉 Cn2 xox

Hi, another question. I want to take my 2 horses to the isle of wight from france for a holiday but I can’t find any prices. Also would it be cheaper to use my own box ? Please help.

  14. blossy says:

hi im going trail riding soon any tips thanks molly

Hi, we hv stables outside our house so we don’t go to a livery yard and there is no arena. We r going to get one but in eventually but we can’t do it yet. So I was wondering if it would be alright to basically use horse muck as the arena surface and put plastic posts around the edge. I rlly want to get more practice in my jumping but I can’t jump on the grass cuz it is uneven and gives my pony sore hooves. We would only be in there for about 1h 3/4 days a week. I know that horses can get thrush from being in a stable full of muck but would a 20×40 muck arena work ? Please help. NaomiSparkle

  16. Hi Life_with_harris_the_highland_pony,
i do, for my cheeky shetlands, and horses. i need one for my palomino and chestnut. (Vulcania and Bolivia)

    Vulcania_the_beauitful_Chestnut_horse

  17. Hi Springles_pony123,
I’m not sure how to help you but that has been happening with Estella, my shetland pony. Maybe try to stay infront of your friends, or just stay in trot while the others go in a canter, but maybe not. But, is it your pony that is worrying you? Because, i have millions of cheeky shetland ponies, and they are cheeky! So maybe it’s because you are worried (no offence, just trying to help)? Cheeky ponies can make you feel a but uncomfortable. what is his name? I may have other ideas but i’m not sure, because i’ve not been around them for long because of the lockdown, so i couldn’t ask my brain because there was so much school work. i will try next time i go down to my farm, and see the littler lessons, what my ponies are behaving like!
I’ll try somehow another time o help you, sorry, my brain’s gone blank again! More ideas may come, just hope.

  20. Hi so I want to do a sponsored ride for charity but my pony can be quite cheeky when hacking. He also has to hack with other ponies but my friends want to do canter but I don’t want to. What should I do?

  21. poppytheponyx says:

hi, laura for sitting in canter pretend that you have like a 10 pounds note on your saddle and you don’t want to lose it so you have to sit tight and if you lose it you can’t have it but if you don’t you get it!

  22. Croka cola says:

Hi, Lauren keep your hands steady, sit with a good posture, don’t tense your muscles, push your knees into the saddle and make sure that your core is engaged and make sure that your ear and heel are inline.

  23. _Life_With_Harris_ The_ Highland_Pony_ says:

Hey guys! Who is buying a new matchy – matchy set cause they’re bored? I’ve bought 3 🙈🙈🙈

  24. poppytheponyx says:

hi Emma, shows are really fun but can be a bit scary at first but just have fun and if there is like clear round or handy pony try them to get used to it before you go into the classes

  25. Lauren says:

Hey! Anyone have any advice on sitting the canter?
