April PONY is out now!
We’ve been out on the road with Polly. Is there anything more fun than loading up your fave pony to go on an adventure, to a show, for a lesson or even ‘just’ a hack? We don’t think so – and neither does Polly! When we lower the ramp on the PONY horsebox her ears prick up and she can’t wait to get going! Check out our travelling essential guide in this issue so you’re ready for a full summer of fun!
Speaking of summer adventures, making sure your pony is fit enough for the activities you plan on doing is sooo important for their wellbeing. Why? Because it will help boost performance and minimise the risk of injury – it’s a win win! So, don’t miss our fab fitness guide as well as a range of exercises to try that will improve your pony’s stamina and skills. From polework to schooling out hacking, you’ll feel inspired with our ideas. And if you’re looking to supercharge your riding skills then you’re in the right place! Follow our top tips and advice, and you’ll be feeling super confident and prepared to move up a level in no time.
When training your pony, it’s likely that you’ll face a problem at some point and, quite often, this is usually in the form of undesirable behaviour, such as spooking or fidgeting. This issue, animal training instructor Lucy Chester helps you understand what your pony might be trying to tell you and how to recognise signs of stress so you can help him feel happy!
Keeping ponies in good shape can be tricky as they’re very good at maintaining weight, but when they carry too much weight it can put strain on their joints and organs, and increases the risk of laminitis, too – not ideal! So how can you keep your equine bestie healthy? We reveal all in this issue.
Plus, don’t miss our super-fun quizzes, gorgeous posters, amazing giveaways and spring fashion guide!
The April issue of PONY also comes with a book – Pippa’s Pony Tales: Team Magic by Pippa Funnell. Be sure to give it a read and then head over to the PONY mag website to test how much you remember!
