These were perfect – so quick and easy, my pony absolutely adored them! They are the perfect treat to take to pony club musters to share with his pony pals! They were a bit dry, so I added a bit of water to bring it all together. Thanks!!!

Omg I’m gonna love making these for my bub Flash. My friend and I will spoil “our” ponies with these!
Hi do you think these would be ok for a (slightly chubby) mare? She reminds me of a welsh sec D if that helps make a mental image. By the way love the recipe, I have made it for loads of ponies for a year
I loved these! Me and my friend (MavMad) made these and the ponies loved them! We changed the recipe slightly, so we thought we’d share it!
Ingredients:
100g porridge oats
100g plain flour
1tbsp honey
1 large carrot
1 small apple or 1/2 a large apple
Water (add as much as needed)
1tsp cinnamon
Method:
1. Grate the carrots and apple into a bowl, then add the porridge oats, flour, cinnamon and honey.
2. Using a metal spoon, mix everything together until it forms a dough like consistency. If it’s too dry, add a few drops of water at a time until it forms.
3. Take some mixture – no larger than the palm of your hand – and mould it into a ball shape, press flat, then place it on a baking tray that’s covered in greaseproof paper.
4. Bake the treats in the oven at 190ºC for 10minutes, until they’re a light golden colour, then flip over and bake for another 3 minutes.
Enjoy making them! Eddie loved them, but make sure not to give them to horses with a tendency to get laminitis because they are quite sugary! We made another batch of these with no honey and extra water for Maverick!
