What you’ll need:
- Felt
- Pony keyring template
- Ribbon/elastic
- Needle and thread
- Keyring
- Beads/sequin/googly eyes
- Scissors and glue
- Cotton wool or fabric scraps for stuffing
Step 1:
Download and print out the template and cut it out.
Step 2:
Carefully draw around the template on to the felt, completing this twice so you have two felt cut outs of the horse template. Add contrasting smaller pieces of felt for the muzzle and hooves, you can either sew these on or glue them!

Step 3:
Use the neck of the template to for the mane, and cut 6cm of felt the width of your thumb for the tail of the pony.
Top tip
Tuck your mane and tail pieces between your two sides so that you sew them together with the body parts.
Step 4:
Using a needle and thread sow the two sides together, leaving a gap on the back so you can fill the keyring with stuffing and add your ribbon keychain.
Top tip
Double-up your thread if you’d like to make it a feature point of your keyring design.

Step 5:
Add the stuffing and then use a piece of ribbon or elastic, roughly 5cm to 10cm, to attach the keyring. Poke the ends of the ribbon inside the gap and sew along the back to close the gap and keep the keyring secure.
Step 6:
Add any other features to finish off your keyring. You can use a bead/sequin/googly eye perhaps sew some nostrils.
