Fun fundraising at HAPPA this February

If you love horses and ponies, there’s an exciting way to help rescue equines while having a great day out! The Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA), based in Burnley, Lancashire, is hosting a variety of fundraising events throughout February, including during the school half-term. It’s the perfect chance to support a fantastic cause while enjoying some pony-filled fun.

Why not plan a trip to Shores Hey Farm with your family and friends? Meet the lovely rescue horses and ponies, explore the beautiful surroundings, and take part in Rose’s Valentine’s Trail, a special activity running throughout the half-term.

If you’re pony mad, you’ll love the hands-on equestrian experiences! On Tuesday 18 February, you can take part in a pony grooming session to learn how to care for a pony properly. Or, for a full day of fun, book onto the own a pony day on the 19 or 22 February to experience what it’s really like to have your very own pony.

Make sure to stop by the cosy café for a tasty treat, or, if you prefer a relaxed catch-up with fellow horse lovers, join the equine care & cake club on the 17 February to chat about all things equine over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

For those who love the great outdoors, the winter hill walk on 22 February is the perfect way to round off the month’s fundraising fun. This guided walk up Rivington Pike will raise money for HAPPA while sharing stories of the hill’s fascinating history, ancient burial grounds, and legendary misfortunes.
