Brooke’s My Hackathon back for 2021!

This awesome hacking challenge is back for 2021 and it’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer of fun with friends – equine and human!

The Brooke’s My Hackathon is free to sign up to, with options to complete 50, 100 or 250 miles – so there’s the perfect option for every rider. There’s no time limit or fundraising target, so all you need to do is your best to raise as many funds for working equines as possible.

The Brooke’s Youth Ambassador, This Esme, is supporting this year’s challenge. She said: “I’m so excited to be supporting MyHackathon again and this year there are distance options to suit everyone! You just need to get sponsored and raise as much money as you can for Brooke. Casper and I had a great time when we took part, and it was brilliant to know that we were helping less fortunate horses, donkeys and mules around the world.”

When you sign up, you can download everything you need to take part, including a mile tracker and social media badge. Once you’ve raised your first £30 you’ll earn yourself a Brooke T-shirt, plus there are heaps of awesome thank you gifts up for grabs once you’ve completed the challenge! Every month between April and September a Hacker of the Month award could be won, too – all you have to do to enter is upload a photo from one of your hacks to social media using the hashtag #MyHackathon.

Three-year-old fundraiser Eden Lagden-Melbourne and his pony, Lego, from the Isle of Wight have raised more than £1,500 so far. His mum, Kelly, said: “He loves riding, especially trotting and doing little jumps. There isn’t a lot to do in lockdown, so it gives us some motivation to get out of the house and do our daily exercise while also raising money for a great cause.”
