The start of a new year is the perfect time to take a look at your riding and make some epic plans to take it to the next level. If you’re looking for some inspo, we’ve got 12 great ideas to help you up your game and form an unbeatable partnership with your fave pony!

Make a plan

It’s great to have a riding goal to aim for as it’ll help you stay motivated and keep

you focused, too. You’ll be able to plan every riding session so it’s super-useful and takes you that little bit closer to your target. Goals can be competitive, like entering a showjumping class, but they don’t have to be! You could aim to master a flatwork skill like leg-yield, or move up a group at your riding school. You’ll feel really proud of yourself when you achieve it!

Book extra lessons

If you want to improve your riding, your instructor’s the first person to call! Have a chat to them about what you want to achieve in 2021, then see if it’s possible to book a few extra lessons to help you get there. Always make the most of the time you have with them, too, so pay attention to everything they say and ask if you’re not sure about something.
