Stay grounded with This Esme

Having so many equines can be really time consuming and it’s easy to skip giving retired ponies or ones on box rest extra attention when the others need to be ridden. But I don’t want anyone feeling left out, so I set aside some time every day to give each of the ponies – and donkeys – the love and care they deserve. Here’s what I get up to.

Spic and span

Giving your pony a thorough groom to get him sparkling clean is the ultimate way to show him some love. Why not take your pamper sesh to the next level and give him a massage or scratch in his fave itchy spot? Mickey loves being scratched on his withers, and always pulls a funny face – it’s hilarious!

TOP TIP

Time spent at the yard is always 10 times more fun with friends, and it’s the same for your pony, so doing these activities in the company of his four-legged pals will make it even more enjoyable for him!
