I’d been so looking forward to catching up with showjumping star Harriet Biddick at Hickstead, but then the summer shows were cancelled! Luckily, Harriet called me up and invited me to head over to her yard to do some filming instead!
A star performer
International showjumper Harriet has regularly competed for Great Britain on Nations Cup teams. She’s a Hickstead specialist, having won and been placed in some of the biggest classes there, including the exciting Speed Derby!
Getting to know you
I was super-excited to see Harriet’s horses, so we headed over to the stables straightaway. We started by saying “Hi” to some of her young, up-and-coming horses who were all absolutely gorgeous! Four of them were bought by Harriet as a lockdown project, so she clearly put all the extra time she had at home to very good use!
It was a huge honour to meet the superstars of Harriet’s stables! Her top horses are A Touch Imperious (Henry), Galway Bay Jed (Jed), and Silver Lift, whose stable name’s Mickey, which I thought was totally cute!
These three horses have achieved some amazing things in their careers. Henry has been runner-up in the Hickstead Derby an incredible four times, Mickey’s won the Speed Derby twice and Jed is a former Queen Elizabeth II Cup winner!
