Hi Martha! My Shetland used to have laminitis but we managed to get him out of his stable and took him on short walks for some excersise, then he stayed in his stable for the rest of the day because he had a walk every day so he didn’t have more grass but got excercise and now he is fully recovered! Not sure what to do about him leaving the stable tho. Sorry

Hi! I’m new and I ride three ponies called Bounty, Vulcania and Coca Cola. I jump about 80 cm, and i have never competed before. My riding instructor says i could compete soon, but we’ll need to wait until confinement is over. I Love dressage and jumping, and going on long hacks with my best friends. What do you guys like doing? Coca Cola is a 13.2hh Welsh Pony colour Grey. Vulcania’s a 14.2hh Selle Francais and Bounty’s a 14hh Appaloosa.
I would like to know all of your things you like to do with your ponies. Bye!

hi LittleWelshPony! I understand what you mean I don’t really have any horsey friends and I have no one to hack out with or hang around with at the stables and it gets pretty lonely and when I hack out I cant go far because my mum has a disability and cant walk far because her legs start hurting and we cant ride out together because my mum hasn’t got her own pony and cant find one with a reasonable price tag that is really safe . How are you and your pony! and do you guys have instagram accounts so we can make a pony group chat where we can talk to eachother a little more direct and see eachothers ponies! dont worry if you dont it was just a little idea!

  13. marseq ——- is diver a chestnut with a white blaze?!?! if so, i think i have just seen him on a facebook video.

    luv LWP xx

  14. hi marseq. diver sounds great. about the shoes, maybe have all 4 in summer and spring, as you be more likely to ride in those seasons, maybe in autumn/fall only fronts? in winter you might not ride as often, so maybe all off during the winter months. we have that problem with our mare, but she has to have all 4 now. Spud has only fronts at the moment, but in summer/spring he has all 4. i will watch your channel today.

hi welshsectionB. when you say trick training, do you mean trickriding or tricks like bow, lay down, etc??? i really want to teach Spud tricks. i think all ponies luv polos, and so do i!! there is a website ( Mounted Games – The Pony Club) it has some tips and advice, i checked it out before i did camp at Berwick to see if there was anything that we might do there. hope it helps!!!!

    luv LittleWelshPony xx

hiya everyone hope ur all doing well during covid-19 lol

  17. Hi lovemypony. I didn’t realise that Rosie was so tall! You must be extremely tall or something like 16 then. How long have you been riding to jump 1.40? My aunt owns a show jumping yard/ hunting yard, so she sometimes gives me lessons. She competed at HOYs!! I am a scaredycat tho, and although Spud can jump 1meter, I have only ever jumped 40cm. ( New Years Resolution: jump 60cm, then jump 70cm by 2022) Speaking of resolutions, have you got one?

How many horses have you owned? Spud is my 1st, and because he is 17, he has loads of experience and trusts me, and me-him. How long have you had Rosie?

  18. Mari says:

Hi! I don’t live in Europe or Australia, but I still thought this would be fun to try! I just bought my first horse (like five days ago) and he is super amazing but I have loads of questions. First off, Diver (my horse) does better with shoes on, but he can go without shoes. The horse shoes will cost me and my family a lot more money, but he preforms better with them on what should I do? Maybe I should put them on during spring and summer, and take them off during winter and fall because during winter and fall things slow down a lot. What do you think? Second, (and this one is more fun,) I need a nickname for Diver! every time I say it, it wounds like I’m using his full name to scold him. Any ideas? Oh and if you want, I started a horsey YouTube channel called Mars Equestrian if you guys want to check that out!
    This was loads of fun!

Hi Little Welsh pony and love my pony!
Thank you so much for answering! I have done 4 camps and I do it in peters field pony club and Jesters fave treats are defo polos! He has learnt to undo my sip on my jacket and take my glove of to get them 🤣😂 my fave this esme videos are the morning night ones but the tiding ones are really satisfying I agree! I feed my pony sugar beet and grass nuts and chaff! We have been jumping 85cm but because he is old I don’t want to push him to hard he is also only 12.3! But on my friends pony, I jump around 1.20m but I can’t ride her in lockdown I don’t ride her much just like once a week or once every 2 weeks because I love just playing around with Jester and just having fun jumping and doing trick training!!! I ride Jester everyday!!
    Xxx

  20. lovemypony!! says:

hi LittleWelshPony, rosie is 16hh we jump 1 metre, 40. i love watching this esme’s videos! what are your faves? mine are probably the tidying ones. those ones are so satisfying. also when you are trying to load spud, if he rears, loosen the rope, so he won’t have anything to pull on. that way he will feel less contained. also try to think positivley, as spud will know exactly when your nervous, and if you are nervous, he will think the trailer is dangerous. if you can get him into the trailer, then give him some cuddles and some treats and tell him what a good boy he is. that will make it a posotive experience for him and he will remeber that next time you try and load him. what is spud’s fave treats? rosie loves swede and polos, but i don’t give her too many polos because they are not really pony food. what brand of food do you feed your pony. rosie has baileys performance balance.

  21. Hi welshsectionB. Jester sounds like a lovely old boy and i love the name – the ”random” names are the best! i def want to be friends! thank you so much for messaging!

thats so sad about the accident! i am sure it was dreadful and would hate it if anything happened to my gorgeous boyo i would be devastated for the rest of my life! i am so sorry that it happened to you on such a great event aswell! what camp do you do? i have done one camp so far, at Berwick.

  22. WelshsectionB says:

Hi littlewelshpony! I would love to make friends too!
With the loading problem my welsh section B doesn’t like loading either but we normally put a lunge rope on one side of the trailer so he can’t suddenly jump of the ramp! It horrible seeing your pony like that I agree! I love my pony called Jester to bits even though he is 25 he still has loads of life left in him ever since I tragically lost my first pony on my first pony club in a heartbreaking accident he has always been there for me.
I’d love to make friends were we live literally no one is very horsey I have one horsey friend but that’s it!
    WelshsectionB!!

  23. Hi lovemypony! that sounds like a good idea, except we dont have a local riding school! XD ive only had Spud for a year, so we havent done much. i would like to try eventing tho! my favourite colours would be green and silver, but i cant get any from round where i am, which sucks big-time. how big is Rosie? she sounds gorgeous! what height are you jumping? i am 11, and Spud is 16. old boy! have you watched any of this esme’s vids?

    thanks for the advice,
    love LittleWelshPony xx

  24. lovemypony!! says:

hi LittleWelshPony, i would love to make friends too. i hardly have any friends! for the loading problem, i admit that must be horrible. i have had a thoroughbred who hated loading, but then i am tottally fearless. ask at your local riding school if you could practice loading one of their ponies. i admit their are probably going to think you are a bit crazy, but if you explain the situation, and show them you are someone horsey, with experience they might say yes. what is your favourite matchy matchy colour, and what is your colours for your pony? my team colours for my trakaner cross highland are navy and silver. she is called rosie and she is grey. we do a lot of eventing and she is an amazing jumper. hope you find this helpfull, from lovemy pony xxx

  25. Hi, I have a problem and was wondering if anyone would have any advice, plus I have no horsey friends to chat to about ponies! I have a 13.2hh chestnut welsh section C gelding called Spud. he is completely bombproof and I love him to bits. Like I said, I have a problem. I do not like going fast!! We live in a pretty hilly place with loads of fields and bridleways where we could canter, but only my mum can decide if we have a canter or not, which sucks. I have no horsey friends that are round my age or who I can ride with (and that is why I joined this chat, to try and make friends!!!) and would like to practise then try and compete in a couple shows, with some horsey friend/s. I have multiple problems, which I will not list because that would take hours! but I would like advice on one more!!!!

I hate loading Spud in a trailer. My only other horsey friend’s (I think we are friends!?) pony is terrible loading, he hates it and flips himself over to try and get out!! Spud slipped and went under the bum bar on the day before our first pony camp, cutting himself on the back and down the legs in multiple places. This scared me so much, but I could still do camp (and we won the dressage). Because of this, I never want to load him to take him to places where we could have a really nice ride! Any advice on how to get over this?

I really hope I can make some friends with the other horsey people on this!

    love from LittleWelshPony xxx
