Make a unicorn dreamcatcher!
Keep your dreams safe with our super-cute make!
Our totally adorable unicorn dreamcatcher is the perfect way to pony-fy your bedroom! It’ll look fab hung up above your bed, plus it’ll catch all the wonderful pony adventures you go on in your dreams, too!
What you’ll need…
- cardboard
- ruler
- pencil
- scissors
- wool
- white and pink felt
- glue
- glitter
- ribbon
- felt flowers
- coloured card
How to get started…
Step one
Grab your cardboard and draw a 20cm circle. Draw another larger circle around the first one to make a 1cm wide frame. Then, cut it out to create a ring.
Step two
Tie your wool in a double knot and wind it all the way around the ring until it’s completely covered. Then tie another double knot to secure it.
Step three
Grab another bundle of wool and start by tying a double knot around a random point on the ring. Then create a web by looping the wool around different points of the ring. Once you’ve finished the web, cut the wool and tie another double knot to secure it.
Step four
Cut lots of strips of wool and ribbon – each one around 50cm long – then loop each strip of ribbon through itself along one side of the ring. Bunch up the wool strips into several sections and, like you did with the ribbon, loop them through to allow them to hang down.

Step five
Draw two triangles onto the white felt to make unicorn ears, and two smaller ones onto the pink felt. Then, cut all four pieces out.
Step six
Glue the white triangles onto the card (to help make the ears more stable) then stick the pink triangles onto the white ones and cut out the ears.
Step seven
Draw a large triangle, around 15cm long, for the unicorn horn, cover it in glue and stick on the glitter. Let the glue dry, then cut it out.
Step eight
Glue the ears and horn onto the back of the top half of the ring – the opposite side to the ribbon and wool strips.
Step nine
Once the glue has dried, stick the felt flowers on underneath the ears for a lovely finishing touch!
TOP TIP
You can use any materials or decorations you want on your dreamcatcher! Why not add some feathers or beads to jazz it up?
