- Line drawing heaven Review by Horse&Rider Web editor Kelly McCarthy-Maine
- Whenever I need to know something about horse structure and movement, I can't remember the first from the second phalanx! Especially as these moments of recall failure happen when the vet is telling me something important about my horse. So, save yourself the stress and have this sneaky little reference in your tack trunk to peek at when the going gets complicated. (Posted on 11/11/2009)
- Student's bible Review by Horse&Rider News Editor Mel Rutherford
- Having studied for an Equine Science degree, I can safely vouch for this anatomical guide as a student's bible. Anyone interested in the detail of the horse's anatomy – including bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, plus other important structures – will find this a useful reference. All information is backed up by citations from peer-reviewed research papers, so you can rest assured you're getting a reliable source of information. This book is perhaps more accessible than some of the more in-depth anatomical guides out there, so it's perhaps best suited to lower-level students or for more simple explainations than for those in their final year or above. By the same token, your average horseperson could learn a lot from this book – but be warned: this is meaty stuff and not your average bedtime read. However, for those prepared to give this a really good go in order to get their head around some of the more complex topics covered, it will prove an interesting and comprehensive guide to how the horse's body works. - Brilliant for referencing Review by Kaliska
- Any college/university or even BHS Stages horsey person needs a copy of this book to refer to! I've used mine religiously over the years for college work and it's brilliant. It doesn't get out-dated, so make sure you don't miss out on a copy! (Posted on 06/11/2009)
