Duggie and the new grass!
What will Duggie do with all that grass? Eat it, of course!
Well, Friday was the day I've been waiting for for months! Kate finally took down the last of the electric fencing (she's been trying to strip-graze us, which Soloman and I reckon means starve us!).
She'd put both of us in our stables so we weren't in the way, but Soloman wasn't having any of it so he tried to kick the door down. When that didn't work, he decided to try calling in his silly shrill whinny. Ouch, my ears hurt!
Luckily, he gave up pretty quickly and started to sulk instead. I was far too busy watching Kate and looking at all the lush, green, succulent, delicious grass to do anything. Yummo!
Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, Kate finished, but she let Soloman out first! What a cheek! I'm the famous, most important pony! As soon as she opened my stable door, I was out and I cantered straight past Soloman who was walking sedately towards the grass. No chance of him having the first taste of that grass!
It was definitely worth the wait. Imagine being fed rice for weeks and then suddenly, you're allowed a big bar of chocolate or a pot of ice cream. Sigh.
So now we're both working our way through eating the grass. I'm trying to fit in 22-23 hours of eating a day, but I haven't managed it yet!
See you next week!
