Horseracing = great maths practice!

How does horseracing help your schoolwork?

Horseracing = great maths practice!

Pupils from The Queens Lower School had the opportunity to apply their maths skills with the help of the British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust at Chester Racecourse. Pupils were given privileged access to areas off limits to racegoers on the opening day of the course's historic three-day May meeting. Led by Regional Education officer and former jockey Carrie Ford, the Year Five students measured and conducted risk assessments in the Parade Ring, and learned the basics of handicapping in the weighing room before watching the races in the stands.

Racing at Chester runs throughout the summer - as well as pop concerts in July!
